
Nvidia has entered a new market with the introduction of its APX 2500 cellular applications processor as the company likes to call it. This is a 750MHz ARM 11 based processor manufactured at 65nm and it has 256kB of L2 cache, integrated graphics and an image processor that supports up to 12 Megapixel camera sensors.
It is also capable of decoding stream 720p video and it should draw less power that competiting solutions in doing so. Nvidia claims that the graphics core of the offers performance similar to the -series of desktop GPUs, although it didn't specify which part.
Nvidia is expecting retail products using the new CPU to appear some time in the middle of next year.
