Today (16.06.08) Nvidia is about to launch its Geforce GTX 280 and Geforce GTX 260 cards. The Geforce GTX 280 has a 600MHz core clock and 240 Shaders, and in real life it ends up some 15 to 20 percent faster than the current performance leader, the Geforce 9800 GX2. The key feature that gets GTX 280 to the next level compared to all G92 cards around is the 512-bit memory interface, but at the same time Nvidia is still stuck with GDDR3. The GTX 260 is clocked at 576MHz. This card will end up with an odd memory configuration of 896MB of 448-bit GDDR3.
