Samsung unveiled a 64-gigabit NAND flash memory chip based on 30 nanometer technology designed to increase capacity without losing reliability and yet decrease the product's size.
This world first technology is part of a long line of similar achievements over the past 8 years, with memory density doubling every year since 1999. The chips will be used in digital music devices, digital cameras or mobile phones. The company plans to begin production of the chip in 2009.
